Troubled Water will broadcast on PBS stations throughout the US with multiple air dates in the Fall of 2025 and Spring of 2026 to coincide with Earth Day and other related observances.
We will reach an estimated audience of more than 2 million viewers through a national PBS broadcast. While Line 5’s fate is currently tied up in an extensive legal process, Troubled Water has a unique ability to win over the ever-important court of public opinion.
Our distribution strategy is centered on bringing national attention to the urgent threats posed by the Line 5 pipeline. By highlighting the environmental, cultural, and economic risks, we aim to engage audiences across the country and inspire them to take action in defense of our most cherished natural resources. Through strategic partnerships and our national PBS broadcast, we will ensure this issue reaches beyond local communities, sparking broader awareness and advocacy at the national level.
If you are interested in partnering with us as a sponsor for our national broadcast, please reach out. We’d love to discuss it with you!

There’s something powerful about watching a film together in a theater—it sparks conversation, inspires action, and brings people together. We’re honored by the many screening requests and will do our best to accommodate all future ones. To help cover backend costs, we ask for a flat $250 donation for independent screenings. Feel free to reach out to discuss!
